I think that's just between summer and winter coats. I have a few like that in my area.

Probably a natural occuring thing from the extensive heat this summer. Seems there are alot of pictures like this floating around.

Have to agree, the winter coats are coming in. Next time you get him on cam he will probably not have velvet either. It is Sept.

Wouldn't worry as much about the hair, as I would of the ribs showing. Could be as simple as worms, hopefully. Something drawing that animals body weight down. Of coarse, if that's all he has to consume is what's in the pic, know wonder he looks like that. Tough giving an accessment without more info.

That deer is likely fine. The coat shedding is normal. It's just making the ribs more pronounced than what most most typically see.
