Cool little buck...

It's always fun getting to see the new crop of yearling bucks every year. I got pics of this little guy once back in August and then he showed up again on yesterday's cam check. I'm digging those long brows and stickers. I hope he makes it though a couple more seasons...he could be a Steuben County stud in a couple of years!!!

Nope, no good pics anyways, he's been like a ghost. I saw him several times while spolighting over the summer...he's bigger but didn't appear to have drops this year. These are the only pics that I've managed to capture of him...

I think it's more of a coincidence really. Both deer are from the same farm/camera set-up but the bigger buck was a beautiful 8-pt last year...something just went haywire with his right antler early in the growth cycle this spring.

I found this scrape last week while checking cams and it was ripped open over the weekend. I set a camera up on it yesterday. Maybe LFN will make an appearance on it...

It's a possibility. I've seen several nice bucks in the past that were injured in the rear quarters and subsequently developed a funky antler on the opposite side the following year.

Yup, the few non-typicals that I have seen around here all had healed over scars on the opposite side of the body.

Nice to see those little potential studs. I'm sure next year (if he makes it) he will be a pretty nice 2 1/2 year old. I'm hoping you get some pics of LFN at that scrape, he's a cool looking buck.
