ants
I called to report my deer harvest today. After i punched in my tag I.D. # the recording said that I had 7 "out standing" tags to report. None of the tag #'s that they read off matched the tag I put on the deer, and I only have 4 tags not 7.... what the hell. tried it like 3 times. WNYBuckHunter
Odd. I would call a DEC office tomorrow.
blackradio
yeah I reported a deer the other day and it said I have 8 outstanding tags. Maybe they include turkey and bear. My numbers matched though.
biggamefish
When I did mine I did it on the computer and it had all of last years tags on there and I could have still reported them. That could be the reason. I thought it was kinda funny to see them al up there but you can go early deer and bear hunting in the northern zone if you have lst years tag i think. ants
I'll try again today. When I picked up the deer from the processor yesterday the tag was missing from the rack, just the zip tie hanging there. The butcher didn't know what happened to it. I'm a little paranoid here. growalot
That one I'd call the DEC for....When I called in mine they just asked if I wanted to report any others...
Doewhacker
I just reported mine online and had no problems. Strange
ants
Well the web sight wouldn't let me onto the report page so I called again. After the second call I just started hitting tag numbers that I didn't have in my back tag, assuming that one of those must be the one. #3 worked. What a pain in the a$$! I have never had a problem before. I would have given up but last year I heard that the DEC was hitting deer processing places and recording tag#s. If a recorded # was not reported the person would get a fine in the mail. Don't know if it's all B.S. but why chance it.
WNYBuckHunter
As long as you were within the reporting period, youre fine. I would still call DEC and speak to them about it. You want to be sure you are reporting the right tags.
