shawnhu
Another hidden aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. Now all the gas stations have ran out of gas. One gas station that still had gas was so crowded, cops had to stand guard because fights were breaking out. I guess this is a little taste of the SHTF scenerios. I had to get out of my car twice to politely tell the vehicle ahead that they were cutting the gas line. They either played dumb, or really was. Either way, I had my weapons with me, just in case shit got real. Cops did little to stop the cutting, they were more concerned about people filling more than $45 worth of gas. damore81
My block is part of the disaster area in Staten Island. I was hit very hard and lost most of my personal belongings, destruction to my home and lost both my cars. My wife and I almost lost our lives trying to escape in our suv which was engulfed in 4ft of water and we swam back to our house with our dogs and just hung on for the rest of the night. Though we went through all of that I feel I cant complain because alot of my neighbors are being taken out in body bags or are still not found. I am now safe at my in-laws house for the time being and I figured I would log on to take my mind off of things. It is going to be a long recovery down here. Good luck to all and my condolences. shawnhu
Damore, sorry to hear of your losses. With that kind of damage, was your area a Zone A?

damore81
Damore, sorry to hear of your losses. With that kind of damage, was your area a Zone A? My area was a zone A. My house is on the border line of A & Bso thats why we stayed but it didnt matter cause the surge went way past Zone A and over B. My block had 5ft which completely submerged all the cars. Sent from my DROID RAZR Thank you for your thoughts and offers. My homeowners insurance insurance isnt covering anything but FEMA is supposed to be helping out, its just a waiting game. I cant start rebuilding yet anyways because we still dont have power and probably wont for another week or 2 cause con ed cant access the neighborhood because there is too much debris and construction equipment. I am lucky because my house is still standing and my wife and I made it out which is more than i can say for my neighbors.
