  1. I love Duck Stamps. True talent on the winner and others submitted. I have every hunting license I have ever purchased. I just figured with the stamps on the licenses that it would be a shame to toss them in the garbage.
  2. Mercedes GLA 250 and a Ralph Lauren sweater.
  3. I'm a member of the NRA. They are one of the few organizations that stand up for my gun rights and defend the 2nd amenment. I love my guns and gun owners need to remember we are a minority. I know NRA is similar to a corporation and understand they are about marketing and raising money, but they are on my side. The NRA is not perfect, but they fight for my right. The NRA supports my rights, not the NFL, NBA, NHL, or all these other organizations that we so willing support with our dollars.
  4. Hey Vinny! Welcome to the forum. Merry Christmas!
  5. Great shot on an awesome buck. Good for you!
  6. I firmly believe an archer can become proficient with his bow in a week of practice. At least these guys are attempting to improve and sight in their bows. There are other bowhunters that will be in the woods without any practice at all. Same with firearms.
  7. I use a hitch haul. It's low, so it's easy to put there deer on.
  8. Congrats on the new bow and congrats on your son bowhunting.
  9. Great pics. You really had some great action. You're lucky to be able to travel to Africa for hunting and a wife that HUNTS makes you double lucky. Nice job.
  10. I have Copper John Dead Nutz 2. I am only using 3 pins right now. I have 2 extra pins if I desire to add more. I'm set for 20, 40, and 50 yds. For a 30yd shot I just put target in middle of 20yd and 40yd pins. I prefer 3 pins so as not to clutter my sight picture.
  11. Can't we supply the liberals with condems and let them place them on the bucks before mating with the does.
  12. Reloading is the answer. In the past year I have seen a large number of new members joining the reloading forums that I frequent. It seems many shooters have begun reloading and now it's creating a powder shortage. I would love to find some Unique. I typically order from Cabela's as their hazmat fee is $20 rather than the $30 that most charge. What can also save money is to do a group order with your reloading buddies to split the shipping and hazmat costs. This is less likely now, due to the lack of powder.
  13. That sucks. I spend $110 a year on a non-resident hunting license and I hardly get into the woods. Many hunters don't buy camps in PA because of this law. PA hunters will buy a camp in Northwestern NY so they can hunt the whole weekend. I think it will be financially beneficial to the PA residents to allow Sunday hunting, but they can't open their minds that much.

We call it that too on occasion. The Largemouth bass fishing has really improved over the past 3 years. There is a Catch and Release policy on the bass, so I'm anticipating bigger ones this season. Big Bass Lake is one of the nicest gated communities in the Poconos, but not too many people have heard of it. I'll be up there again this weekend to fish, play tennis and go to the pool with the kids.
  15. Yes, Field & Stream stores are the outdoors focus store from Dick's Sporting Goods.
  16. I thought there was an archery range at Floyd Bennet Field? I shoot indoors at C&B Archery in Hicksville. It's maxed at 20yds. FYI- If anyone wants to shoot in Field Tournaments or 3D tournaments, you can shoot at Suffolk Archers in Dix Hills. It's an awesome archery club and they open their tournaments to non-members for a fee of about $30. There are tournaments nearly every Sunday. Check the Suffolk Archers website for a schedule of tournaments.

I have a place on Big Bass Lake in the Poconos. I fished last weekend on Saturday and Sunday morning. I had 4 bass and 7 pickerel. The water was still a bit cool and only one bass was a decent size. The lake is Catch and Release on bass, but I C&R on every fish. It was nice just being out on the lake. I love my Hobie Mirage Kayak, that thing is just perfect for lake fishing.
  18. Or you could buy my house in the Poconos for $200,000. Lake view, half acre.
  19. Little Pond gets my vote. When I was younger, I did a lot of fishing/camping in the Catskills and Little Ponds was nice. I also stayed at Woodstock on the Lake, and Lake Koinoinia(sp?) near White Lake. They were both nice campgrounds.
