Standing Corn

Any farmers out there? Why is there still so much standing corn in 8H? Gun season is upon us and they love to hide in the corn when pressured. My guess is the crop is so bad this year due to lack of rain the corn is almost not worth the gas to retrieve.

My guess is the ground may be to wet to get the tractors on.

They also like to have a certain moisture content in the corn before they harvest.

I have seen corn stand until the ground is frozen and the snow is flying.

All of the farmers I have been talking to have had to get their beans out first. The beans are popping out of the hulls, so before they lose too many, they have been forced to get them done before the corn. 75% of the corn near me is down, the other 25% is probably going to be down within a week, or however fast they can dry what theyve already taken down.

All the corn around me is still standing. The beans have been down since before Bow.in our block. The ears are very small on the stuff I have seen.

I hunt a farm of 2,000 and some acres, I know they were trying to get the beans in and think they have. The corn around me is low and thin the deer are easy to see in it.

I hope they try to hide in it....

I noticed that some farmers have started cutting corn in the Pittsford / Mendon area the past few days .

Now i hope they leave it up.I didn't get any favors during archery,why should the neighbors get the adv.during gun?LOL.
