fasteddie
Most of my rifles don't fit into my shoulder very well . I don't think I have average length arms . I bought a set of Choate Composite Black youth forend and stock . I will put the set on either my 223 or 25-06 first and try one of those out . Has anyone else ever done this ? I probably won't install them until after Christmas . It was a lot less expensive than cutting the stock down to size .

fasteddie
NEF -- New England Firearm . I prefer the single shots over Bolts and Semi's .............
WingNut
I like them. My weatherby 7-08 is a youth frame and love it. Go with what fits!
bubba
I have a youth stock on my nef 25-06 and my new savage axis. They fit me better and are more comfortable to shoot. I found that if you have a scope, I had to change mounts to an extension set to get the scope far enough forward on the nef. I bought used stocks on another site at a good price for the nef. Guns&ReligionCop
I have the opposite problem I have to butt recoil pads on of my guns because of my long monkey arms. You want the best possbile fit. If your guns big on you now once you throw your winter cloths it will be way to big
bubba
there is a simple way to see if a gun fits you. Pull the gun and find a target on the wall. Look through the scope or sights. Close both eyes and open them back up. If the gun stays on the target the gun fits you. If not you need to adjust.
coonhunter
I posted about this on another post about shotguns. I think you will be surprized how well the rifle feels. All mine are youth models now or have a shortened stock. They are produced for the average sized adult male, and apparently, I am not tall enough. The youth models fit me like a charm. fasteddie
Jeez Bubba , I am glad you brought up the mention of scopes . I will have to move the scopes foreward to avoid scope eye ! Thanks ........
phade
I am starting to find I prefer the shorter guns, too. No shame in that.

Contender
Statistics show that 97.3% of people with short arms also have other short body parts. Have any trouble with anything else Fastone? Anyhow, I have no idea what is wrong with your stock other than it is probably too long....
