phade
I love bows. For several years, I was in the mode of buying or trading copy work with manufacturers for new bows. I got a '10 Z-28 and I really liked it. I decided I was going to stick with that bow, as I really liked it and it shot well. No need to switch right now. Lets me focus on the hunting and perfecting the shooting as opposed to the bow setup, gadgets etc. Most of the more successful mature buck hunters I know seem to hold onto a bow that works for them for several years. I rarely see one "outside" of the industry swapping bows each year and being successful unless they are abnormally wealthy. That said, the Strother line looks solid. The Elites appear to be a good refinement. Edited January 28, 2013 by phade
coonhunter
I agree with you Phade. I have bow hunted almost 30 years and i am only on my third bow. I like to tinker with a bow to get to know it, but then I just want to shoot it without having to monkey around with anything. Worst part is that it is almost time for me to get a new one. I have been putting it off, but the new ones pull back so easy and you can hold them back so long, it gets harder to resist every year. Guns&ReligionCop
I also agree with Phade and its seems like it takes a few years before something comes out thats leaps and bounds over whats already out there
fasteddie
I think my latest bow is 4 years old ( not sure ) . It works fine so I don't plan to change anything . It's a Ben Pearson TX-4 . My backup is a Parker EZ-Draw and nothing wrong with that bow . If it works , don't fix it ! There is a lot of Hype trying to make people think that they need the newest , latest equipment .
