Contender
Anybody been able to find a source of reloading supplies that isnt sold out of everything?? Also looking for any local (Rochester area) that has bricks of .22 Remington Thunderbolts. Anybody finding anything??? PM me if you have a secret supplier or post if not so secret.. Anybody know if out of state stores are having the same shortages? I will take a road trip if need be. Thanks
Doc
Have you tried Beikirch's in East Rochester. I haven't been there in a month or so, but they still had ammo then. I know things have gotten crazy since then, so there are no guarantees.
fasteddie
I was into Beikirchs today and bought some 357 bullets for reloading and some ammo . Things have slowed down . The ammo panic might be over .
Doc
I hope so because I have some more components and powder to get one of these days.
Contender
Thanks guy's ...I am heading there tomorrow,,,I was there a couple weeks ago and was able to get plenty of powder and primers but they were out of everything else. The retired people keep buying it up before I get to the stores.... Ordering on line is a mess. No backordering and expected delivery dates out to November in some cases. Many are not shipping to NY even if they happen to have it. I am buying everything I can lay my hands on...I think the commie's plans are to let you keep your guns but make ammo impossible to get or make it cost prohibitive. I cant even imagine how much ammo people must have stockpiled.
Doc
I take it that Midway is still emptied out .... right?
fasteddie
Midway , Midsouth and Natchez were out of 158 gr Hornaday XTP bullets for reloading but Beikirchs had plenty on the shelf plus American Eagle 357mag loads for $25 for a box of 50 . I bought some of the cheaper 380 bullets just to shoot up at the range to get used to the Ruger LCP . The store wasn't packed like it has been the past few weeks . Lawdwaz
Check out Powder Valley.
fasteddie
Lawdwaz --- Beikirchs is local , supplies most of the gun stores around and has the supplies right there . No messing around with shipping and waiting . It's not too far from the expressway either .
Contender
Thanks Lawdwaz ...Powder valley- out of stock on most common components and no back ordering. As with everyone else , they have no idea when they will get stuff. I's real bad right now.
fasteddie
Contender --- what are you looking for ? Maybe call before you go . If you call , the message will ask you if you want to call a person by name and give you an extension . Try Dave Fladd . He's the only guy I can think of off hand . The are one of the suppliers for the Buffalo Gun Center, one of the biggest gun stores in NYS. I mentioned the Powder Valley people because the OP didn't specify that he was looking for a strictly local deal. Any port in the storm these days. defrazzle
I can use some help in reloading and trying to find a wad brand and type that will work well with my components. The components are: 1. Hulls - Cheddite, 2 3/4", low brass, skived, smoooth outside and straight walls 2. Primer - Cheddite 3. Powder - Unique 4. Shot: - #6 - 1 1/8oz. 4. Wad - ????? Others are using the same powder (22 grains) and hulls, but they never mention what hull they used. My older Lyman Reloading Manual (2nd ed.) has a couple of loads for Federal Champion Plastic hulls using a Rem RXP12 wad or Champion 12C2 or Alcan Type #D. But nothing for the Cheddite hull. The only wads I have left are Winchester Western 12T for target loads. They are an orange color and have to be at least 25 years old! I did try two of these but they leave way too much between the shot and top of hull. Crimp then turns INTO the hull itself. Any advice would be helpfu. Is there anyon that could spare 2-3 wads of the type Rem RXP12 wad, Champion 12C2 and Alcan Type #D wads for me to try? Let me know - thanks.
