Deerthug
since the Justice Department released a study Tuesday that showed firearm-related homicides in the U.S. annually declined 39 percent from 18,253 in 1993 to 11,101 in 2011. Hmmmm....... Great article about this in the Washington TImes . . . http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2013/may/9/miller-bloomberg-obama-and-liberal-media-muzzled-a/ Edited May 10, 2013 by Deerthug
ants
Wonder why you never hear stats like that? Must be that all of the "Gun Nuts" don't want us to know about it....LOL!!!

WNYBuckHunter
Ive had discussions about the declining gun crime rate with a few antis, and the "best" excuse I get is that the DOJ has "changed the way they record or classify the crimes" lol. Funny the way they try to dance around the issue when the facts are presented.
phade
Also probably because his Bloomberg News reporters are cheating the system...using inside proprietary information found in computer systems Bloomberg News rents out to financial firms and other relevant companies. Goldman Sachs got wary of it a week or two ago when an executive was questioned by a BN reporter about another executive's log-in habits before a deal was completed. Well, duh, how else did they know about it because the deal hadn't been completed yet. Apparently, they've been doing this for decades. Doc
Well, if I were an anti-gunner, I would spin these numbers as meaning that the thousands of gun laws are finally having an effect on crime. And with just a few thousand more, they can make even more inroads into reducing crime stats. Be careful what buttons you push.
Mr VJP
Bloomberg is just laying low until the public's 30 day attention span cycles.

That info is very much dependent upon which side of the fence you are looking over.
