phade
Buy from Brad at 60x Strings on Archerytalk...great strings. He's an accomplished tourney archer, too.
josephmrtn
I want a string all set up with, silencers, peep sight, release loop, ect ect.... does he do them?
phade
I'm not quite sure what the benefit to that is. In fact, I'd be wary of someone who offers that. Buy the string/cables and take it into a pro shop for set up, timing, and tune. That way you can get the peep, silencers, d-loop, where it should be. josephmrtn
Check out the link I posted.... they sell them all set up... you have to provide the measurements and everything...
phade
I did check out the link and I still don't get the benefit for 99% of bowhunters. It'll still have to go into the shop for setup and tune. If you DIY, then there's no need to have them do it. Edited May 13, 2013 by phade
josephmrtn
Just had a better idea..... have my buddy in PA who has 1.experience 2.bow press 3.NICE homemade indoor range, do it for me... He could do everything I need done and wouldnt (I hope lol) charge much
WNYBuckHunter
Except that you have to go all the way to PA to get it done. The last time I had my string swapped, and the bow tuned, it cost me $30 or $40, and I could shoot the bow to make sure everything was good before I left. I second phade on 60x, Im on my 2nd bow with a set. Top quality.
josephmrtn
Where would be a good shop near watertown? im thinkin/wanting to, go hunting w my bud in PA this fall anyhow so i could have him do it then too... while im down there... I dont think it needs done anytime soon... and yes I would prob use 60X strings... (since Ya'll recommend em so highly lol) its just that my bud has a bow press ect and knows how to do it so if there aint a pro shop around he would be the next best option... WNYBuckHunter
I cant help you with a pro shop up there, but if you plan to hunt with the bow this year, now is the time to have the string done and the bow tuned so you are 100% comfortable with it come October. Doewhacker
The string on your bow had only one season on it I beleive Joeseph so you should be good for a few thousand arrows.

chiefbkt
I will also recommend Brad at 60x. I bought a new Dead Eye in September and had the strings replaced after bow season (prob had ~600 shots on them). Not sure what kind of bow you shoot, but some of the factory strings that come on bows are terrible, ie the octane strings that came on my bow (IMO). I will agree with the other guys, if you're gonna make changes to your set up, now is the time. Don't wait until the end of summer or a few weeks before the season. And if you're in a bind, you can always head to Gander Mountain. They should be able to tie on a D-loop, adjust and affix a peep, and do most minor bow tuning needs.
