Trading a Handgun Out of State

This morning I was in Bennington, VT, and found a shotgun that I’m considering trading for at a gun shop. Does anyone know if I have to have the handgun shipped FFL to the other FFL to do a trade out of state?

Unless you have a permit to carry in Vermont,  yes shipped to ffl .

You dont need a permit for CC in Vermont

Vermont does not issue Permit/Licenses to Carry a Concealed firearm. Vermont does allow anyone who can legally possess a firearm to carry it concealed without a permit of any kind.Jul 1, 2022

Apples (ownership transfer) and oranges (concealed carry).  In Nassau and Suffolk county NYS, your pistols are registered on your permit; I do know about other NYS locales.   How you do show proof of ownership transfer/disposition  for your pistol registration?  I would think you need the FFL for proof of transfer.

Not sure how VT works but I recently had my Dad sign me over 2 pistols from him in NY to me in CT. He dropped off at NY FFL who ships to CT FFL and I pick up.
