Geez, 9 days before season starts, and the fawns are still nursing... Figured momma would have cut them off by now!

I saw that a couple times durring archery last season.

I too thought they would be off the teet by now, but I guess it's not so uncommon.

So cool. I've witness fawns pushing the mothers hind end right off the ground, for " milk let down."

That probably does not indicate a reliance on milk. Even the late births are into forage products by now.

The fawns will continue to do it until the doe no longer lets them. Like Doc said, they are not dependent upon it at this point.
