growalot
So you know I keep a pretty good eye on the local herds...the last few days have brought some changes...they are showing up in fewer #'s at night and increasing #'s mid morning and mid after noon...I'm going out retrieve cams from areas I plan to hunt today and see whats up there...yep the cams get pulled on our place before season starts...more than once I sat in the middle of our place to hear " Sh*t she's in her stand"...or get the call from a neighbor...9pm.....we see lights moving around in your woods Any how the dusk dawn feeding pattern has changed a bit for at least some of them right now.... SplitG2
I switched to all black flash. I leave my cams out year round. Helps tell a story of what they are doing.
Jeremy K
I saw a tight group of 5 bucks last nite with 3 doe at dusk, the nite before last was 2 good sized bucks with 3 does in the same field . I only get a chance to evening watch, I'm not sure what's going on otherwise .
growalot
see your point...but I hunt so many different spots and areas ...it doesn't make a difference with me and gosh half the fun for me is the surprise in it
deerpassion
Haven't been out to check the cams lately, but im sure fall ranges n timing are beggining to kick in , cant wait to see what new bucks show up in the next couple weeks, gonna pull the card my first sit ... Good news is I've had zero human traffic so far (public land) unlike last year ( new spots) ... Cams are ten feet up n there crappy stealth cams so thy will be done if someone gets the itch to climb up n get em ... U should put a couple of ur crappier ones up high n see if u can catch the trespassers on candid camera... I believe u've posted before that u think its ur neighbors... Sucks! growalot
Ya ...I've had a few phone conversations with the locals that took place before turkey season....So we'll have to see how that pans out...One stopped when I was building the fence...in the conversation he made the snide comment...I wouldn't want to be the one to piss you off...I looked him squarely in the eye and said...ya you might want to keep that in mind.....enough said....lol...new metal posted signs with cell # go up this weekend...no excuses...yep way late for me but had to wait for Mr B to get the pressure treated home...hate not having a truck....He operates on gun season time ...lol
Arrow Flinger
I haven't seen any deer out in the bean fields around my house since they started to turn yellow. I think they wont hit them much again until they pick em.
WNYBuckHunter
The bean fields are devoid of deer around me at this point. Tons of mast falling has them spread out right now. They are also spending alot of time in the corn, so sightings are down, but the plethora of fresh tracks tells me they havent disappeared. phade
Hardest time of the year to endure. Food sources may change, some deer may change patterns or habits. Some deer won't change habits or patterns. It's just a big wrecking ball in one's plans sometimes. Glassing is important at this time of year to help fill in the gaps of information.
