Novemer 1, 2 and 3. Windy.

Just looking for some input on what to expect this upcoming weekend.  Took off Friday and going to hunt up in Chenango.  It looks like it going to be windy but  I don't have any other options.  I'm going.  Going to sit up in that tree rain, wind whatever. 

 

Anybody have any luck in the past with windy (15 to 25 mph)  winds?

This past weekend was very windy... 25+ mph. Saw more deer in two days than i did the rest of the season. Rut is heating up so they are moving!

Indie t see chit this weekend.Everyone else that hunts the same area did though.I think this weekend should be pretty good.Just remember,they live in it and are somewhat use to semi windy days.Its the 40+ mph gusts that I don't think they like

Doing the same thing. My only days off so I'll be out there. It is going to be 60 on Friday, a bit warm but whatever I'm hunting. You just have to be alert at all times. Buck could slip right through undetected with the wind howling, no cat naps!!! lol

The wind could send some widow makers your way if it is THAT windy.  You have to decide if it is worth it....................

Yeah.  We are all aware about the widow makers.  That is my brothers favorite line.  We try to be aware of them and take them down whenever they are over stands or trails we use.

I just checked 2 sites.  Both say a little wind on Saturday and almost none on Sunday for central NY.

still probably pre-rut with some oddball doe in heat. But yes, activity is picking up for sure.

This and the wind drying out my contacts is why I hate hunting in the wind
