Past 2 sets I've gone to hunt are messed up. 1 ladder stand I checked in August had the strap snap on it. I go in today with a new one, replace it and head for a ground blind to find that one blown over and collapsed. Now that blind I checked a week ago and it was fine. Just bad luck I guess. Glad I'm not hunting the sets when things go wrong is the best way to look at it. But definitely not what I want be be doing. Just want to go hunting!!! Anyone else snake bit this season?

This back end of the bowseason has been a big disappointment. The wind and rain is starting to get to be a bit ridiculous with no end in sight. Not that that is unusual for late October and early November .... lol.

I have learned one thing this year ..... Just because we have an extra long season, it doesn't pay to waste any of those early days. It was easy to make excuses about how it was too hot or too this and too that. I wish I had some of those days back now .... lol.

Yeah I always use tent stakes to help hold my chair on the ground so it doesnt flip over when I take a nap. Lol

But on a serious note to you guys that hunt from tree stands, PLEASE use your safety harnesses. As a vol firefighter we had to help a guy out of his tree because he was wearing his safety harness. Had he not....well he would have dropped about 20 feet and then rolled down a steep embankment. A guy I worked with fell out of his tree stand while wearing one. You just never know when something may go wrong. You can do something 100 times and nothing happens. But it is just that one time when you least expect it.

Please be safe and happy hunting to all

a bad back has kept me from going up any tree this entire season so far...i set up a ground blind a few weeks ago and went to hunt it yesterday...couldnt find it anywhere, i thought someone had stolen it...until i got closer and saw that the past weeks snow and wind flattened it down...took me a few mins to pop it back up... SOOO MUCH WIND THIS YEAR, seems like every time i've been out i'm expecting to get picked up and land in Oz

Had my stand in the woods for about 3 weeks. Pulled it to move to new spot. Bolts were loose on stand and treesticks. Tightend em all down and as i was doing it noticed a bolt bent. Glad i pulled it and checked the bolts. Woulda been a nasty fall if one snapped from not being tight
