i'm talking to a wall, so i'll let it go. Was just wondering how they "as a breed" were around kids, given that they are also trained to kill. that was all.

Belo, no houndsman will tolerate a dog that shows any aggression toward humans,

a good hound will run coyotes all day and kill when needed, then be your kids best friend

Belo, they are great with kids. In fact I run running walker foxhounds and they they tend to be a little shy toward people. They are not trained to kill. They are bred to run fox and coyotes. When they catch one alot of dogs will tuck tale and run. The strain I am running af grit in them and stand there ground.

Kids and coyotes are two separate worlds!

Belo he answered you the first time but you don't understand for some reason. Shocker you missed the point.

My dogs are fully capable of taking out a yote or what ever but are also the best dogs around kids you could ask for. I hope you understand that.

his answer is quoted above. The response "two separate worlds" did not answer my question. It could mean that they're separate activities and kids don't interact with his hounds. Or it could mean they're perfectly great together. I so do apologize for not understanding. I will put my dunce cap on and sit in the corner.

Hounds,

your last post answered my question perfectly. thank you. sorry this was made out to be more than it was... but your topic got more hits ;)
