Swamp_bucks
I plan on taking my nephew Saturday morning of crossbow and he is 16 do I need to still sit with him or can I put him in a stand a couple hundred yards away? Just want to make sure we are legal. Think we still need the permission slip from parents but just wasn’t sure how far apart we could sit. mowin
I believe 16 he can hunt on his own. No longer a youth hunter.
Moho81
16 is no longer a youth/junior hunter and can hunt from an elevated position. Only restriction for 16-17 year olds is as follows. 16- and 17-Year-Old First Time Big Game Hunters Resident and non-resident hunting license holders aged 16 and 17 who have not previously hunted deer or bear must be accompanied for the entire season by a parent, legal guardian, or by a person designated in writing who is 18 years of age or older. The adult mentor must be licensed to hunt big game and have at least 1 year of big game hunting experience.
G-Man
Not a youth and if hunted as a youth then can hunt on his/her own
