New NRA spot: We Are the Good Guys

Recommended Posts

A very powerful ad. Now the question is where is it placed on TV? Are we still preaching to the choir by running these on hunting channels and programs, or is it out in the general programming with a properly targeted audience?

Somehow, these kinds of ad are slipping by me because I have not seen any of them anywhere on the TV.

A lot of networks can, and do, refuse to run ads from the NRA.  I don't believe that should be legal to do, but apparently it is.

If you want the NRA to have a huge impact on this country, JOIN!  Too many times I hear the anti's proclaim the NRA doesn't represent the majority of American gun owners who WANT "reasonable" gun control laws, because only about 10% of gun owners belong to the NRA.

Anytime I hear a gun owner bad mouth the NRA, I want to slap some sense into that person.  If you think they are too radical for "regular" gun owners, you have no idea how radical the government's future plans for eliminating your rights are.  Heck, all you need to do is look at what's been done since the government first started attacking gun rights in 1968.  Incremental infringements, little by little, and people don't complain.  The analogy of a frog in a pot of water on a stove, not worrying about the rising temperature until it passes out and is cooked, is very true with a lot of gun owners.

If the NRA had 25 Million members, there would be far fewer gun control measures being passed every year.

So last Saturday afternoon I'm in one of my ladder stands, bit of wind moving tree tops here & there. Ratchet strap making a light creaking noise. Looked it over a month prior, seemed taught, ok. Few minutes go by, now it's one of those things that'll drive you nuts trying to keep quiet & all, ok gotta deal with it. Waited until wind rustled some leaves for cover noise and go to tighten up a click.
      And 'poof' she goes.
All my ladder stands have extensions I'm about 19' up. Most of us know what a pain setting up extended stands can be but that's another deal. 2nd ratchet saved the hunt. And yes I'm harnessed in. Goes to show an extra step for safety pays off.
      Good hunting.

I think Bruce Willis is saying what we all feel inside. If they can arbitrarily take certain guns then they can evetually take them all. Worth reading: http://wtop.com/541/3219352/Bruce-Willis-Dont-infringe-on-Second-Amendment

I attended the governor's Safe Act Meeting in LaFayette tonight. It was a poor choice of venue as the crowd of guys was about 3 or 4 times larger than could be accomodated by the LaFayette court house. The three representatives of the governor said they could only answer questions about the provisions of the law not the wisdom or philosophy of the law. It was good to see the large turn out to this hardly publicized event and the solidarity amongs't fellow hunters and gun owners: http://photos.syracuse.com/post-standard/2013/01/pro_gun_rights_crowd_packs_ny.html
Everyone was frustrated, but civil to the governor's representatives. The governors representatives said they would carry the message of frustration back to the governor ( for whatever thats worth).
