Leaving a section of ladder out of a stand ?

I just bought a Hawk 1.5 ladder stand on sale at Runnings 

Got it all together today while it was raining .

its 20ft .. I believe my other ladders are 15 fr which is enough for me

Any reason I can’t just leave the last section of ladder off ?

That way in 15 ft to the seat ..

I've done it.  No issues. Just make sure the support section is still used.

Yea I may have to move that up

i didn’t think there would / should be an issue but just thought I’d throw it out there

What Mowin said is cool. I have a few at 20 but as time goes on I've been doing the 18' ladder stands.

We remove a section of the 15 footers, and relocated the brace to a middle location. These newer, narrow ladder stands, not so sure.

Safest coarse of action would be to contact the manufacturer of the stand. Safety first, is no accident.

I could see where "adding" a section to make it taller might possibly be a problem .
