No reason too panic.................not just yet.  The best week is here on us.  The next 10 days should be golden.  For those of you familiar and believe Charlie Alsheimer he predicted 3 days after the rutting moon.  Rutting moon fell on the 6th so that would mean the week to ten days starting the 9th. 

 

I have a feeling any day or so movement will pick up quite a bit.  I checked all my game cameras and the only buck was a small 6 at 8 am.  The rest are moving at night.  Btw, where I hunt the doe have been tough to come by.  It will change soon.  Keep at it.

Chuck, while a good guy...I dont think his moon and rut forecast is as accurate as he thinks. Too much science and studies disprove it fr being gospel.

I like Charles as well but I have to agree with Phade. Years of research have shown little to no connection between the moon phase and the rut. I was never really convinced of the possible connection to begin with. One thing's for sure though, the temps are right and the winds are brisk, time to log some long sits in a stand. I am seeing bucks chasing and trolling for doe everywhere but 30 yds around my stand..Lol..

Its just starting to pick up in 4A, but nothing exciting yet. Seen a 6-8 pt thus morning but didnt seem to have a care in the world about the rut.

I believe him because every year the rut hits exactly when he says it will.

How does one pinpoint the rut to its exact start and stop time?  Charlie could be close but to say he hits it exactly every year is kind of a stretch. I mean how do you know exactly when it starts.  Besides to be technical this is the pre rut.  the chase time.  The actual rut is about 36-48 hours when the does are ready to be bred and then the bucks hang up with the does and wait.
