Doc
Gun laws are not really for stopping gun crimes. They are intended to harass gun owners and encourage us to give up our firearms. No one has any data that can say that any of the laws has discouraged gun crime. The fact is that the more laws and harassments they throw at us the more gun crimes increase. The only way to get the government off our backs is through the vote. We have the power if we ever choose to use it. We did a damn good job of shutting down any new federal gun legislation, now we have to get that sort of thing happening here in this communist state. But it takes dedication to our gun rights. It takes not only our ow votes, but activism to get others out to vote, and to vote correctly. The hunting community may be shrinking significantly, but the numbers of gun owners is growing. We should not be getting over-run by the anti-gun pinkos.

I would have anticipated this type of comment or behavior from a bunch that jumped ship for greener pastures, but shocks me coming from you. I didn’t realize there was any bad blood between us, or between me and anyone else on this site for that matter. Especially surprising from you, considering you previously writing to me about coming and hunting coyotes on my land. As far as breaking away from anyone in NY's teat, it’s not that simple. At my age, the thought of being forced to move away from ones children and grandchildren, with the prospect of being faced with dying alone is a sad reality. It's a hard decision for me make, as I suspect it was for the exodus of seniors (and others) who fled to Florida, Tennessee, Texas, Carolina’s, etc, to survive financially, leaving their family behind. The ammunition issue is just the icing on the proverbial cake for me. Learning or not learning to reload is not the rub for me in itself. It is being forced yet once again to suck it up, and find away around the bull$hit that comes from living in this State. Until I read your post to me, I did not plan to mention, or “complain about it” any further here. And, after this response to your question, I will make sure not to speak of it again. I try very hard to avoid being drawn into Pi$$ing contests and controversy these days. I have neither the time, patience, or interest in bickering with others after all that has gone on in the (and my) world over the past decade. I hope I answered your questions. I wish you well. Have a nice day. NYH Holy overreaction Batman. Haven't heard any updates as to what you planned to do after your ammo fiasco and wanted to see what you decided to do about it ? I was hoping for a reply and update saying thanks for the info and recommendation about reloading and I'm currently working on acquiring reloading components. Not a response about politics, which I never mentioned, but is really the main reason your having an issue in the first place. I guess I have thicker skin from working in the city most of my life. After waiting almost a half hour to get anyone to come to the sporting goods section, the fella that showed up immediately starts apologizing for how bad the process is to purchase the ammunition. Little did I realize how bad it would turn out. After giving my name, address, height, weight, address, occupation, showing my driver license, and social security number, and writing the check to pay, the damned computer said the purchase was being placed on some sort of delay for review, by who the hell knows, and I could not buy the ammunition. The clerk said it could have a determination “in a half hour or as long as 2 days”. WTF!!!! This shit has got to change! NY has gone to hell in a hand basket! The way things are here, I really think it’s just a matter of time before I sell everything and go back to Alaska. All part of the master plan orchestrated by Hochul and Letitia James to limit gun ownership in NY

Think it can’t happen? In New York, don’t count it out. They had better hurry up. I am heading for 81 years old. They probably don't have that much time to start knocking on my door.......lol.

Rules governing gun ownership and ammo purchases will get tougher. Here's the facts: Lee Zeldin came within 6 percentage points of taking the governorship in the last election. Meanwhile, the latest Sienna poll shows that 57 percent of the voters prefer someone else other than Hochul for the upcoming election in 2026. Only 33% would vote for her again. And she does intend to run again in 2026. If the polls are even close, the time is coming to get things right here in NYS. Do you know gun owners who are not registered? Do you know gun owners who do not vote? A little activism doesn't hurt. It may be a bit uncomfortable, but we have got to stop treating politics like a dirty word and stop avoiding all political discussions. This thread shows how intertwined our hunting and shooting are with politics. Yes, politics is a hunting related discussion. We have to stop whining amongst ourselves and start pushing people to use the voting power we already have accessible to us. There is a pretty good article that lays out all the numbers for you. Take a scan of what the numbers are saying instead of just throwing in the towel and living with whatever the government decides to do with our guns and ammo. We have a chance to make a difference. Take a look: https://nypost.com/2024/12/10/us-news/majority-of-new-yorkers-want-someone-other-than-kathy-hochul-for-governor-in-2026-poll/
Robby
You're ahead of me Doc, but not by much. Reloading? Well the commie scum that run this state haven't gotten to it yet, they will. They have made tens of thousands of honest citizens into felons as the keep moving the bar as to what is legal and what isn't.
