landtracdeerhunter
After all the snow and the wet Spring, it sure went dry around our area. Never did get much of a garden in. The little that is planted needs to be watered every 5 days or so. This seems to be the new normal now. How's it in your neck of the woods? Doc
We had a late start because the garden was too wet all the time to get the rototiller out there. Then when things started to dry out a bit (like June 1st) we got everything in, but had seed germination problems. Beets, swiss chard, parsnips and spinach never came up or came up so sparsely that there will be no harvest. Carrots, summer and winter squashes are up and thriving the broccoli plants, lettuce, and rutabaga all got eaten by a woodchuck ( I got revenge on him but all that is gone. peppers are growing good. So it is a mixed situation this year. We are in the middle of a 5 day dry stretch, but nothing is bothered by that and we are supposed to get some rain Friday. I am not worried about the things that are up and growing. But it has not been a good year.
First-light
My corn fields were planted late and look like shit. Looks like a write off coming.
