June was........ just a bit warmer 50-60 % chance of rain and in the low 80's from Sunday through Friday....So much for kayaking next week...last thing I want is to get caught in a storm on the lake....hhmmmm

Oh wait ...give it an hour and thing may change completely....lol

June was just unreal, it rained 5 days a week it seems.  So far we have had only 3 days of rain, possible rain tomorrow and clear skies through Sunday.  Farmers are really suffering again.  That knee high by 4th of July corn saying, most are lucky corn sprouted and didnt seed rot by the 4th.  Hay is going backwards at this point, brown and losing nutrients.  Been a big push to get hay cut this week, I know a few that are just going to get it off for bedding since its so brown and hope for a good second cut of hay. Many put it into silage as well.  Oats on the other hand is doing extremely well, those who planted it are tickled.  Hay and anything related to corn is going to be costly after this.

Seriously, this weather has raised hell with the farmer. I have seen fields that will not support combines right now. And some corn fields that are only going to add to the expense part of the ledger, with no income. Cute little corn plants and some large areas of drowned plants that will never come back this year. It's a shame.

The corn next door to my house is shoulder high already. A couple low spots from water, but it looks good.

Yesterday it said 20 % chance of rain today...it's grey damp and now we have 100% chance of thunderstorms all day starting at 9am...we have corn next to us...but he never bother to spray it...most other fields went into beans here....I'll believe several days of Sun...only at the end of such days..

We've had a lot of rain here (Central Cayuga County) but all of my crops are fine and my neighbors are fine too. Aside from a few wet spots where the water drains, but that's not a very big area. Most corn here is above the waist and when at my in laws in Branchport over the weekend I saw fields that were shoulder height or higher. Second growth has come in really well in my hay fields so it should still be pretty good. The corn could use a few weeks of hot days and warm nights though.

Picked peas in the rain ...a steady moderate rain from 9:30 am until ......well here it is 2:17 and the rain is getting even heavier. Good day for shucking peas and ironing while watching a movie...
