growalot
Now that I have several perennial all around feed plots in I will concentrate on turkey plots...annual and perennial feed and cover plots for them. I'm thinking I will lay down a general hay type seed where I normally put corn these past years...lining the road side pines and the west side fence...then next to the fence line plot I will run grains the length of the lane way for them...this is between our woods and the neighbors swamp.very narrow but 300 yrds long. What do you think?

I Now have to de-rock those newly smoothed areas, then I'm done, I'll have nearly all perennials in save the turnips and can relax by the time I'm 60....

You must have some impressive equipment- tractors, plows, bobcats, etc. Need a rundown. Always impressed with your work ethic.

ATbuckhunter
Check out something called chufa. I hear that turkeys love those. Although nothing is wrong with grain crops or clover. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
growalot
Been there done that...for some reason it does not do well here....Going with the beardless WW because both turkey and deer like it...I also keep honey suckle ,dogwood and some Autumn Olive brush around for the birds and dear love these as well...Ya I know ...but it really isn't all that difficult to control and it provides lots of all season food and cover. landtracdeerhunter
Turkeys like to come into my hay field after the. 1st cuttings been harvested. They clean up a number of grasshoppers and late frogs. They also eat the young red clover.
