I am sory that I sold my 40 year old Savage Stevens , Looking forward for something to replace it and do not want to spend $1000.00 , Is there any make and model in the $500.00 Price range that is pretty decent.

I cannot comment on the  CZ shotguns, but I own a CZ rifle and have shot and handled a couple of others, and they are very well made and accurate.

I wouldn't be afraid to buy a CZ shotgun, as long as I liked its handling qualities.

Another option is to check out the gunshops and online auctions for a good used gun.

Last I knew SKB doubles could be had  for less than $1000..My main small game gun since about 1975 has been an Ithaca SKB M100 side by side in 20 gauge.  I have shot hundreds of rounds through it and have killed everything from woodcock to foxes and turkey gobblers and it has never missed a lick.

Stoeger's are OK knock about grunt guns. If you don't care about fit and finish and just want a beater to hunt with then the Stoeger is fine. The CZ will cost you double what the Stoeger will, but the looks, fit and finish of the gun are leaps and bounds above Stoeger.

I just sold a little FIE/Boito Brazilian made double 20 gauge for $250.  I just never used it anymore, but it was a great hunting double.  Pretty little thing for the money.  The young man I sold it to is an avid small gamer and always wanted one, so he now has mine.  He loves it.

You can find them for sale for the same price on www.gunbroker.com.
