How Long Before Gun Ownership Is Classified As A Mental Disorder?

Recommended Posts

Distrust of authority is now considered a mental disorder. Joseph Stalin would be proud.

Look for gun confiscation to start happening using these diagnosis. If you have guns because you don't trust the government, that could be used to diagnose you as having Oppositional Defiance Disorder and then they'll declare you unfit to possess firearms.

There will be a few test cases then they'll start ramping up.

"Is nonconformity and freethinking a mental illness? According to the newest addition of the DSM-IV (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders), it certainly is. The manual identifies a new mental illness called “oppositional defiant disorder” or ODD. Defined as an “ongoing pattern of disobedient, hostile and defiant behavior,” symptoms include questioning authority, negativity, defiance, argumentativeness, and being easily annoyed.

The DSM-IV is the manual used by psychiatrists to diagnose mental illnesses and, with each new edition, there are scores of new mental illnesses. Are we becoming sicker? Is it getting harder to be mentally healthy? Authors of the DSM-IV say that it’s because they’re better able to identify these illnesses today. Critics charge that it’s because they have too much time on their hands."

Although the authors of the manual claim no ulterior motives but simply better diagnostic practices, the labeling of freethinking and nonconformity as mental illnesses has a lot of potential for abuse. It can easily become a weapon in the arsenal of a repressive state.

That describes you perfectly, distrustful of the givernment, i'd be very worried if I was you

Must be a Freudian slip that you called it the "givernment".  LOL!!!

If the government is your friend, you're a parasite among free men.  I'll proudly stand with all of the other great Americans, living and passed, who have or had a very healthy distrust of the government and knew of it's potential to grow bigger.  The bigger the government, the smaller the liberties.  The smaller the liberties, the more oppression.  Power corrupts.

You should be very worried because you are you!

The 'giverment' is bad enough, but I'm more concerned with the 'takerment'.

That is because you are a productive american and not a parasite.

More gun confiscation is happening for other reasons too.

Don't like your neighbor?  Place a call and all their guns are taken.  Soviet Russia has shown America the way.  Loonies will still be allowed to roam freely and use hundreds of other things to kill people though.

(Referring to the original post here, do you think this will be used to disarm pissed off taxpayers more than it will be used to corral the pissed off Black Lives Matter hooligans?)

This happened to Dinesh D'souza because he made that documentary about Obama. He was forced to convince a psychiatrist he was not mental. You see, you have to be crazy today to wanna fight for freedom, truth and the American way. The Politburo has deemed him unwell

Dem judge orders psych counseling for D'Souza

NEW YORK – At a hearing Monday in Manhattan in which he ruled filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza must continue community service for four more years, U.S. District Judge Richard M. Berman said he considers D’Souza’s violation of federal campaign-finance laws to be evidence of a psychological problem and ordered further counseling.
