22Plinker
Out of curiosity, does anyone sell or trade their squirrel tails in to Mepps for cash or credit towards fishing lures? For those who are unaware of what I am talking about please check out the info: http://www.mepps.com/programs/squirrel-tail/

dbHunterNY
if you're a squirrel hunter that's cool. don't really have the time to fit in that much squirrel hunting to bother. always thought it was a cool though.
Skillet
I do it. We've got about 35 to send right now. I'll wait for the end of the season. You don't get much, but I think it's worth it.
growalot
what to you pay in shipping?
Skillet
It haven't sent them since last year, so I don't exactly remember. We just shook the salt off them, put them in a Wegmans bag, & stuffed them in as small a box as possible. They don't weigh anything, really. It was cheap to ship. I still came out ahead, after they paid me. You know, it may have even been a large envelope we sent them in last time. Skillet
Here's the card they send you, once you've started sending tails to them. As you can see, they aren't worth much. I think we sent then 60 - 70 last time. Edited January 8, 2016 by Skillet
22Plinker
I saw somewhere that if you send more than 100 they credit you the cost of straight shipping. Plus even 50 tails at an ever age of 11 cents each is $11 in mepps credit of $5.5 cash. Personally I wouldn't do it for the money but I use mepps lures for trout, pike and musky so basically 2-3 free lures for doing something I am already doing is cool. Less animal waste
