Primos Proof Date & Time

Folks, I noticed that there are several folks in these forums using Primos equipment.  Maybe someone can help since Primos' customer service will not address a simple question competently.  I received a Primos Proof for Christmas and the App the camera writes to the SD card to extract the date and time from my computer will not work (will not write the text file to any SD card).

I have asked Darlene Fears, Primos CS, to send me an example "timestamp.txt" file so I can manually correct the date and time manually with a text editor.  She hasn't a clue...

Can someone help me with the format of this file so I can get the date and time set on this trail cam?

Thx,

JRH

Sounds like you need tech support from them, going to be hard for someone to know what you are talking about and how to actually get it from the camera to you, might not be something a non-tech can do.

Check to see if it has a firmware update, if it does it should replace the text file for you, hopefully but it sounds like you need tech support from Primos not customer support.

Just did one last week for my brother-in-law who received one as a gift.

Step one was to insert a sd card into the camera and power up camera.

Step two was to turn camera off and remove sd card.

Step three was to insert the sd card in to a port on the COMPUTER.

Once the sd card was inserted.... a screen automatically popped up with the time/date stamp. There was a option to change it but there was no need because the info was correct. Hit ok, closed the program, and put it in the camera.

Weird way of doing it  but it did work.

Hope it helps

Are we talking about the easy cam or bullet proof cam? Not the Proof 1, 2, or 3?

Enjoy that freaking headache when the cam is already in the woods. There will be a time difference when swapping cards if there is any meaningful travel time between the computer and the camera.

Not sure which primos it was...One of the cheap ones. I couldn't understand why they would do it like that either. Sounds like a real pain to me.

He had decent camera stolen off the land he hunts so his friends got him a couples cheapos in case he gets ripped off again.

Phade,

Proof 3?  (Model 63053 Date: M08D06Y2015)

Per Steve D.s comments, I followed the directions exactly with the date/time procedure.  All works OK until I try to save the TIMESTAMP.TXT file to the card and I get a write error.  Happens with any SD card (freshly formatted), in the SD slot or in a SD adapter in the USB port.  I thought maybe the app doesn't like Windows 10.

So if I could a sample of the TIMESTAMP.TXT file, I could change the info manually.

Phade, next time you run the TIMESTAMP.EXE app on the SD card, make a copy of the file and save it elsewhere.  When you go to the field, estimate the date and time in the .TXT and place the saved file on your 2nd SD card.  You won't have to play games running the app, just edit the file.

Best,

Jim

Jim -

Or I could just have a cam where I can set the time on it. Simple enough.

And that is not the Proof 3. The 63053 is the Bullet Proof - the cam marketed as being simple, easy, etc.

Clearly it is not, easy nor bullet proof.
