Where have they gone?

First pic of a decent buck since my crab claw buck...I was getting pics of him every other day. Anyone else havin diapering deer?

Its transition time for them. Shedding velvet and summer coats and transitioning away from bachelor groups and seeking their home range. You may lose a few bucks but probably gain some from near properties.

No..right on schedule they are reappearing.

I just started getting bucks on my cameras the past 7-10 days.  Some that walked by on the heels of doe, sniffing the ground as they went. Though still in velvet. And the acorns are dropping big time now.

Most of my bucks that have been around all year are disappearing. A few have made brief reappearances and I have a few new bucks showing up too. First was a big spike that appeared from no where. Now a smaller spike and even more recently a small 8 it appears to be. I've got 8 cameras on this property so I can't be missing too much. Nice to see the pattern change though. Hopefully a big one comes wandering in soon.

O and my bear is back after a few weeks hiatus

M bucks usually disperse come beginning middle September. Happens every year. Probably because my property doesnt hold to many bucks, mostly doe. Bucks are normally spending most their time on the neighbors. Buck pics usually pic back up for me come mid October.. 

 

I think they move to their core areas now, which is much smaller than the "Home range" or however you word it.. lol

I guess I own their summer home, now they move to the fall range... they'll be back when the corn gets cut.
