Why is this important? I shoot left handed with a right eye dominant. Anyone else out there shoot this way? I started reading and the "experts" on the internet say I should have been shooting right handed all this time. Also read I should not be closing one eye wing shooting for waterfowl. I usually end up knocking something out of the sky and am a pretty good shot. I wonder if my eyes got messed up recently. Left eye was really weak. What to do.

Well I am VERY left eye dominant and shoot right handed so I feel your pain. On the wingshooting. wear glasses. even shooting glasses if you don't wear prescription. I put a small static black dot on my left lens that blocks the straight line of sight for my left eye but I don't lose any peripheral vision. you would put in on your right eye. I think the dot is about 1/4" in diameter.  Try it out shootign some skeet and see how it works for you.

I'm right handed and was right eye dominate , but my right eye got very weak so,I switched to,left hand shooting .

Then after LASIK I became left eye dominate , so that worked out nice , only my right eye also became 20/20 .....

I've never had an issue long gun or handgun ( I shoot way more handguns) .

Leo Major was a sniper and general bad ass in WW II , he lost an eye and kept on killing the enemy just fine .
