So my day started out just great lol i plow my driveway with my 05 polararis sportman 500ho now this morning i was plowing and lost all gears for no reaseon linkage is all good ....iam wondering did the cvt belt break or is there something else ...has this happend to anyone on her before this happend everything worked fine ...so it looks like ill be using my kabota till after xmas ..i hope the trans didnt crap the bed could cost me some$$$$

you 04 has a digital speedometer? my 03 is analog

Mines a 05 and ive never changed the belt . only bought it last year so my fingers are crossed motor revs no problem no noise ...i just lost all gearing doesnt matter if iam in 4x4 or not...hoping its just the belt not the cvt itself

Yeah sounds like belt broke. Before the ATV stopped moving did it want to move after it was put in gear? My F.I.L. had a worn belt and it wanted to move when in gear with no throttle replaced it and no issues. The old belt was toast with fibers sticking out and flat spots. His was also that engine-braking model.

I was plowing with it when it just stopped moving and now it dont try to move so iam thinking the cvt clutch is kicking in and out but theres just no belt lol thats what iam hoping anyways ill pull the cover and make sure but i plan on buying extra belts
