I think women recruitment is a little tougher especially those who comes from families that don't hunt or don't know anyone who does.  Even for men, it's some what bold to trust a stranger and follow them deep into the woods while they're armed.  I had bumped into a woman a couple of years ago that was interested in hunting.  I extended my invitation to her as I've done with others only that she was the first female.  Eventually she asked if my wife hunts and when I told her she doesn't, I never heard back from her again.  It was clear she was only comfortable with venturing out with other females.  Understandably so.

Thus the hunting club suggestion most clubs have some woman involved...if only during such events.. This would allow people to meet and greet find their best connections and circle of help.
