moog5050
So when my 8 year old daughter beats me in a 3D challenge with her little Sioux bow, does that make me a good coach or bad shot? Lol. She is getting pretty decent. Figuring out back tension pretty well.

grampy
Perhaps a little bit of both....smile...... So cool to hear stories like this! Better watch out when she moves up to a big girl bow! She will be lights out to the competition!
moog5050
I just told her it might be time to get a tab and a real bow. She was offended by the bow comment. Lol.
mlammerhirt
Dang back tension at 8 years old! She may have a bright future if she keeps this up!Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk She was drawing with her arm for a long time and even 15lbs was a struggle. She seems to have finally figured it out after some drawing practice/exercises without the bow. Major difference as she is getting full shoulder rotation and better alignment. Now all of a sudden, the bow is easy for her to draw and hold. Cool to see the progress. Funny thing is that she prefers the longbow to a compound. Yes I am a proud Dad. I expect her and Phades daughter to be taking the primo stands in no time!
mlammerhirt
You should take her to see a 3d tourny or shoot. The winter cam classic in Rochester has a ton of women shooters there each year, these girls have ice in their veins and shoot lights out when the pressure is on...Just something for her to push for.Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk Lol. She is shooting a kids long bow at 6-8yds. We kinda set some of our own rules to make it fair. 3 shots to 1 and she can make me shoot from wherever she wants. She isn't quite ready for the real thing yet. She does hit the bullseye and inside the first ring quite often though. pistolp71
That's awesome. I've got a 8 yr old archery shooting daughter myself. Good stuff.
grampy
I haven't been able to shoot for about a month now. But my grandson is wearing out my 15 yard basement target lately. Good to see the torch being passed on. He will be much better than I ever was.

The_Real_TCIII
I've got 12 year old twin girls and have youth compounds for both of them but just can't find the time to get them shooting. Sports school and dance just eat up all of their timeSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
moog5050
Guess it wasn't an upset. She wins again and finishes the last 2 turns with 4 of 6 arrows in the bullseye. And I only get one shot. How can I compete. Lol. Time for her to move back a bit.
The_Real_TCIII
She's no fluke, good for her! If that was me with a longbow you'd need a new water heater
moog5050
Heavier tips helped her today but those arrows are still way over spined.
The_Real_TCIII
It will be a major upset if I get out of bed and get to my shoot by 8. I don't like the odds...Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
