OMFG!!!!!! that was beyond impressive. I personally have done every single deer i have shot and i have done several others for friends of mine. I have done done it even close to that fast. I probably average around an hour or two to skin, most likely that long due to the drinking of beer while doing it but even without the beer drinking it would still take me 45 mins at least just to skin the damn thing. But i will say that if you notice in the video, razor sharp knives and bone saw help A LOT!!!!!

Yep,

Fresh killed, warm, ungutted deer.

Facts: that deer didn't weigh 80lbs with guts, the hide is useless for to sell he had so many cuts in it, and where's the race anyhow????????????????

I average 35-45 mins to skin/quarter/prep for processing per deer. Quicker the deer is a fresh kill and warm, the hide will pull off with one hand when they are warm. I always precut the hide at the rear & frt. legs before hanging, makes it easier on the ground and much less time after it is hung. Unless I am going to mount the deer, I split the hide down the neck from brisket to chin and the entire hide peels in one piece all the way to the ears.

AND

A meat saw is a most.

Why do it so fast when you can enjoy a couple of beers with your friends and get the deer done too. This is a good camp tradition too.

That was definately at a slaughter house/processors, where time is money. No care/concern for the hind or how many extra slash cuts are in the meat.

It was done strickly for the camera, I am sure. And it wasn't his first time skinning a deer...................if he works at a processors, I bet he does a few doz. a night.

PS: I agree with Dave, where's the hurry. Still cool to watch though.

The only benefit I can see to gutting a deer in a couple minutes is if you crack one under a light or on posted property.  Guess that is why I'm not in the guiness book for gutting.

I consider myself quick at skinning, but not that quick.  I can have the hide off a deer in roughly 10 minutes if it isn't froze on.

You know what they say about assuming, right? Maybe some people just like to see how fast they can do it.

I think the video was make to show us just how slow we are, but that's ok .The final result is what counts.
