hi, i was at a funeral for my friends dad [ wow what a sportsman he was lake ontario for salmon, hunting in colorado for mule deer and montana for antelope]well i told him im really syked i got a doe tag so technically i could get 4 deer cause have my archery tags and i could get a buck with my regular licence well he said no i need the muzzleloader tag to get the either sex with the bow or a antlered deer so you are my go to guys for this i looked on my licence and i dont have a muzzleloader tag.do i need that for archery too thank you

How many tags do you currently have?  4 tags = 4 deer.

- Archery tag (early season) should be either antlered or unantlered.

- DMP (doe tags) are clearly for unantlered only, and specific to a WMU.

- Regular Season tag is for antlered during regular season, but if unused, becomes an either antlered or unantlered tag in the late season.

- The muzzleloader tag (late season) should be unantlered only.  EDIT: You can use this tag in the early archery season.

You do not need the ML tag for archery, but if you get it, you can use it on an additional antlerless deer during the early archery season.  That would let you take a total of (4) deer but (1) buck would have to be taken during gun season.  You could take (4) doe during the late ML season if you saved all of your tags until then.  You can not take more than two bucks.  If you apply for DMP's in certain overpopulated DMU's, you can kill as many as (8) does during the late ML season.  That would include your (2) "first pick" DMP's, (2) transferred DMP's, (2) "leftover" DMP's (available fist come - first served after November 1), the ML/archery "either/or" tag, and the gun buck tag which becomes an "either/or" tag during the late ML season.
