Eric Clapton at Madison Square Garden

I saw Clapton last night and as usual he brought the house down. Jimmy Vaughn and Gary Clark Jr. were the warm ups. Gary Clark Jr.is a phenomenal guitarist . Clapton plays once more tonight at MSG.

Wish I could have been there! Have always been a fan of his, esp past few years. He has no problem sharing the stage with other great guitarist.

My girlfriend's dad is there tonight actually,  flew in from Illinois.

I thought he was working on retirement? I imagine,considering the pace of his life, he could scale back a lot and still consider himself retired...

I have read in several magazine articles he is an avid outdoorsman, spending a lot of time in Scotland salmon fishing and shooting. I would love to read an in depth interview/ article about this.

He only played 2 times in North America this year , both at Madison Square Garden. He has 3 shows scheduled in Germany and 1 show in Austria next June. He also has a huge gun and car collection. As far as retirement goes , he's been saying that awhile due to health problems.

He moved there in May, and he flew out here to visit us, see the Calpton show(his wife bought them tickets for his bday).   He also wanted to pick up his handguns from his best friend who held them for him until he could legally possess, and travel back by car with them.

He had a good time it sounds like, they stayed the hotel across from the Garden, I guess.

Yes, he sure did, and it was great to see him.  He came to our house for the first time, and we had a great visit.  Had an amazing chicken parm hero too, as we all went out for a nice dinner with him, and his best friend.

I was wondering why I saw so many freaks ( more than normal) walking around Manhattan Saturday night. They had a Comic Con convention at the Javits Center from 10/3 - 10/6.
