mowin
Took a walk this morning in my hunting area. Noticed the leaf canopy is about a week and a half early. Usually on May 1st, I'd be able to spot the birds on the roost as there was little to no leaf canopy. Not this yr. Sould make it easier to slip in a little closer if needed, but one could also miss a roosted bird and ruin the morning hunt. Lawdwaz
That means the apple blossoms will get frozen for sure.......
Rattler
I too am seeing early leaf production, but the apple trees do not seem to be blossoming early this year. I'm hoping for good apple production this year. So far long range weather forecasts do not show any freezing temps in the near future in my area. Most lows at 40 or only 50 degrees for the next two weeks. It looks like another wet month of May though, even on the opener in the afternoon. mowin
Most of the maples in my area are leafing out. Willows, birch, poplar and cherry are even farther along. Oaks are still budding out.
ATbuckhunter
Apples and pears have leafed out already in the area I deer hunt. The area I turkey hunt always has leaf cover by may 1st because its in a giant valley. Should allow us to sneak up on the roost a little easier though.
