Any Springfield fans out there? I'm thinking of picking up one of these with the external hammer, Thanks for any input,

For whatever its worth,

I have an XD Mod2 .45 in bi-tone.  I love it, never an issue with it, carried daily, and still look brand new as well.  I would not hesitate to buy another Springfield gun.  My dad has a flat dark earth XDS 9, and I am considering one as well.

XD in .357 sig and love it. Have a streamlight laser light on rail with custom holster

Just to update my gun arrived and I love it. Fits better in my hand with the 9 round mag but ok with the 8. I'll probably carry with the 9 and carry the 8 as my reload. Thanks again to all who shared their opinion.
