wer the remington acu tip slugs on sale? i shot those last year and they worked great.

I hope you have better luck with the Copper Solids than I did. The lack of expansion was very bad and the entry and exit holes were pretty small, leaving very light blood trails on every single deer I ever shot with them.

i switched from the hornady sst last year to the accu tip. the copper solids didnt shoot good out of my gun eathier. In my opinion the remington accu tip sabot is one of the best slugs out there now. you can keep them copper solids..

Id like to try the accutips, but have mine dialed in for the SSTs right now. Not gonna mess with it this year.

Don't know if the Accu-Tip's were on sale or not. I think they didn't have any or I probably would have bought some.

The copper solids are also pretty light weight-wise for the gauge...5/8 for 20 gauge. Stil...I picked some up this year to tinker with in one of my guns since they were so cheap after the rebate. Only 4 per household though for the rebate.

I'm happy with the way the CopperSolids performed today. The range was 50 yds. I shot the bottom target then adjusted the scope up and shot the top target.

Oh they grouped great out of my gun and were very consistent. Their performance on deer was not so great for me.

I picked up a box of the AccuTips tonight, as Ihad a Remington specific coupon at Dicks. Ill try them after the season.

I never understood how a slug doesn't leave a blood trail. It's 1" in diameter.

I don't know blur, I've never really hunted with a slug gun before to know for myself but not having much of a blood trail does sound illogical. Hopefully I'll get the chance to put these things to the test next month.

Im speaking out of experience. I even pulled a slug out of the ground last year that didnt expand, even after going into the ground. I never said no blood trail, I said light blood trail. I have heard the same thing from others that use them as well. Like I said, I hope you have better luck with them.

BTW, they arent 1 inch in diameter. A 12 ga bore is less than 3/4", then the slug is wrapped in the plastic sabot, which means the slug is even smaller than the 12 ga bore.

Thanks. Bought a few more boxes today as well as a few boxes of Hornady SST which are on sale at Dicks now for $ 9.98. It'll be interesting to see how well they group. Then I'll have to pick up some Rem. Accu tips and check them out.

Why would you adjust scope higher for that bottom group? I think the box has zero right at 50 yds. That puts on par for 100-125 yards kills (assuming shooter skill).
