  1. Anyone have any interest in these books from the 1940's, 50's, 60's, 70's ? $50.00, local transaction only, NYC Metro area. 3 boxes of books.
  2. Yeah I went with the poor man's Aimpoint. Oh well, it'll have to do. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J727AZ using Tapatalk
  3. Sighted in my Remington 7400 today with new red dot from Primary Arms. After some research last night online, trying to figure out what gr. bullet might perform best, I found tons of negative comments about inaccuracy and operational problems. Well fortunately mine did well with both 165 and 180 grainers - most definitely minute of deer at 50 and 100 yds. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J727AZ using Tapatalk
  4. I have the same rifle and will probably have it out again in the woods this year. So far I haven"t been able to harvest anything with it. I use the Hornady steel cased SST rounds for hunting. I use the NECG peep sight as well with an aftermarket front sight.
  5. Nice! I love getting a good deal. Yeah, I haven't been impressed with GM's prices as of yet, but glad it worked out for you.
  6. For sale is one original Sako rear peep sight in as new condition. Diopter rotates for 100M and 200M. The base of this sight secures to the Sako receiver dovetail. High gloss to match the high luster blue of early Sako rifles. Price is $150.00 shipped (CONUS) My email is [email protected]
  7. What WMU is it located in? How many members are you looking to pick up? What's the membership limit of the club?
  8. The store in Commack and (I think) Riverhead will still carry hunting gear, ammo but its limited to one aisle.
  9. I stopped at Dicks in Huntington the other day. Seems they have a decent supply of ammo available - they even have 22LR. Just a friendly heads-up.
  10. Fixed blade heads are more forgiving than mechanicals. Muzzy MX-3 for me.
  11. Disagree, because I still only see does and spikes. Where are the rack bucks?
  12. Dicks has a Mossberg 500 Field/Deer combo on sale for $299. Comes with vent rib barrel and cantilever barrel w/ 2.5x20 scope. How could you go wrong?
  13. I just got one about two weeks ago. Cabela's had 'em on sale and a free shipping promo so I popped on it. Haven't used it hunting yet but plan on using it opening day. Arrow nocker, the blind leans foward so it doesn't reflect light. There are vids on youtube on how to make homemade versions.
  14. There are plenty of choices. How about a Redfield? Leupold, USA made - supposed to be good. Good luck.
  15. They asked for my ID at the Lake Grove store, but I was buying 357Mag . Figured it was because its pistol ammo (although I was buying it for a rifle).
  16. You should probably go online, say Cabelas for instance, and check out the climbing stands. These are probably a better choice for you as opposed to a hang on stand because of their packability and mobility, assuming you're hunting on public land. Lone Wolf and Summit are pretty popular choices but there are plenty others. Be sure to check how much weight each stand is rated to hold if you are a bigger fellow. Don't forget to look into getting a safety harness either! Good luck and do your homework.
  17. Nice of you to get that for "him". Have fun shooting it, let us know how it does.
