Jordan got his two separate one-year deals of $30 million deals after his initial contract was up.  Bulls spun it as repaying him for years of service.  I remember at that time his salary was like more than 3 times that of the next highest paid player.  When it was Pippen's turn they were like "There's the door.  Peace homie!"

Pippen signed a monster contract after jordan retired the second time... Jordan could have made 45 million a year and walked away...  And there is not a doubt in my mind and alot of others peoples mind stern the commissioner was giving jordan a huge bag of cash on the side........
