onlybrowning
I have two fields planted in Whitetail Institute Fusion (clover and chicory). Total is about 9 acres. I planted it last year after plowing, discing, then a cultimulcher. Prep was great, rain was not. It was ok, but grew in a bit thin. About halfway through March this year, I frost seeded it. I still have some bare spots, but I feel I need to target the weeds coming in. What can I use instead of the expensive Whitetail Institute’s Slay and Arrest to selectively kill invaders to this plot? I have a PTO sprayer. Thank you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
moog5050
This won’t hurt clover but is not safe for chicory. Not sure what is safe for both but still kills broadleaf weeds. https://www.keystonepestsolutions.com/butyrac-200-herbicide-24db-herbicide-1-gallon-
Zag
Im not sure you can get slay or arrest in NY any longer. I’ve used wi with nothing but good luck. Make sure you use a sunflower oil to mix with arrest or slay, price isn’t bad.
land 1
any thing that kills broad leaf will kill chickory u can go with a grass only but that leaves you with broadleaf weeds, mowing may be your est option
onlybrowning
Thanks for the input guys. Slay and Arrest will be pricey for that acreage, but sounds like it might be the only option for the chicory and clover. SWEDE
Yea just went through this. Arrest a selective grass killer and slay a selective weed killer. Both safe on clover are no longer sold in n.y. without a pesticide licence. Same with poast. Clethodim is allowed however cleth max needs a license. Found cleth e.c. at keystone and its on its way to n.y. i agree all will toast chicory tho
