JALA RUT
For members in western NY, a couple buddies and I were looking to try fishing some new water and decided to give Chautauqua Lake a try this weekend. In looking at the map and the DEC site to find a boat launch, we were thinking about the launch at Lucille Ball Memorial Pk. Is that boat launch in pretty decent shape? Thank you for any info
The_Real_TCIII
I can’t speak to that one but I’ve launched at Bemus plenty of times and it’s a decent launch Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

JALA RUT
Thank you for the info. I was looking at the one at Bemus too. I've never fished Chautauqua and looking forward to it. Would love to hit up a nice musky over there.

Good luck with that , the closest thing I've seen to a musky in there was bringing up half of a perch.

Pygmy
Back when Moby Dick was a minnow, Chataugua was New York State's premiere musky fishery, for numbers of fish, although The St. Lawrence was king for size... Perhaps things have changed as most fisheries in NY have changed over the years.. I don't keep track of musky fishing much, since I have little interest in it...Too much time spent for too few fish..I prefer fishing for species where I can catch numerous fish in a few hours, rather than spend days trying to catch one fish.. JALA RUT
We'll see how it goes. Caught my 1st musky last year and hoping for a few more this year.
wolc123
If you want to try for walleyes, the latest information that I have (from last season) indicates that the "hot bite" has been in the deep holes with jigging Rapalas. I used to go for walleyes down there a lot in my younger days, before I learned how much better bass are. I still have some good friends who are into them and they did very well down there last year.
