Foriegn Shotguns Any Feedback

Recommended Posts

I looked at a couple of Stoeger doble barrel shotguns. Then another store had the Baikal doubles plus they still make a combo shotgun rifle over under like the old Savage model 24. The cost was between $400 and $600 at the store. There were some cheaper on line but there would be shipping and FFL fees. Now most of the bargain double barrel shotguns from Remington and Ithaca and CZ are coming from these countries plus Turkey. Does anyone own any of these? Any comments? Buy or keep saving?

I would prefer to always buy American. That said, I do have three foreigh made shotguns, all .410's: a Stoeger coach gun...a Brazilian SxS...and a Huglu O/U. I have had great success with all of them. Have had offers in the field to buy the SxS for more than 4x what I paid for it. No deal....I won't part with it!

I have had a 12 gu CZ Bobwhite (English stock, side x side, double trigger, extractors) for a couple of years. I like it a lot. It's functioned just fine. The action was very stiff when new, it's slowly loosened up a little.

My understanding is that Benelli is the parent company of Stoeger and Franchi.
