Agree 100%.  Sadly parasitic New York City will never want to give up its cash cow of Upstate.

I would love to see a referendum on the voting ballot to enact the cessation of Upstate New York from Downstate New York.  As an incentive Downstate would receive Cuomo, Schumer and Gillibrand as their leaders.

You know, looking at the map, Im a little surprised that Ulster went blue cuz its pretty rural and lots of red necks up there , at least , so I thought.  I did hear, though , that lots of city people reolocated there due to the pandemic; prehaps it made a difference?

Lets say nys is split.  Has anyone crunched the numbers.  Would rochester, syracuse, buffalo, albany as well as the other counties who went blue be enough to carry the “new nys”.  You could end up having two blue states.  Can somebody get the numbers on this?
