Nytracker
I have never split a 44 mag case that way . I did have problems with crimp in the beginning. I aparently didn't flare enough and had didnt get adequate tension. My rcbs dies require a decent flare in order to get a decent rolled crimp on the xtp. Even more evident when crimping on 300 grn xtp.

Nytracker
All my places for components went dry a while back . Now its hit or miss and limits don't make it worth the trip. On top of the prices have gotten outrageous. Good luck finding stuff .
