Steve D
WASHINGTON—The Supreme Court agreed Monday to review a New York state law that limits carrying concealed firearms outside the home, the first major Second Amendment case it has heard since 2010 and one that could lead to a loosening of gun laws nationwide. The court first recognized a right to keep handguns in the home in a 2008 case and extended that ruling nationwide in 2010. Since then the court has declined to consider how far Second Amendment rights extend outside the home, even as most state and local gun regulations were upheld by lower courts.
ADK Native
Mayor De Blasio of the great gun control and crime ridden New York City weighs in with his view. https://theglobalherald.com/news/de-blasio-rips-supreme-court-gun-rights-case-as-a-step-in-the-wrong-direction/
Grouse
De Blasio refuses to admit the guns causing NYC's problems are in the hands of gang bangers and criminals. He's let many of them out of jail and crime and murder is on the rise in the city because of it. Why would he not want to allow law abiding citizens to defend themselves against the predators he's released among them? Because for leftists like him, it's not about the safety of citizens, it's about disarming the citizen and making them subservient to government power.
Robhuntandfish
so would this possibly mean that I would no longer have a "hunting, fishing, hiking, target" pistol permit? That is all they will give out in this county. That it would then be changed to an unrestricted? Just wishful thinking...

One can hope that would be the outcome, but the reality is they could rule the other way jeopardizing the right to carry concealed anywhere in the state. CapDistPatriot
It would certainly set the tone for the magazine limit challenge currently percolating in the 9th circuit. That will be ready to go to the supremes by 2022.
