Inverter generators

Didn't want to hijack the other thread when generators got brought up. 

I have a 20 year old Honda ex1000 generator. Been taking camping the past 20 years . No issues at all. Now with these newer generators that run on duel fuel gas or propane I'm contemplating getting a champion 2000 or 2200w one . I know I can get a 2200w honda and then get a hutch conversion to propane but it voids the warranty . Anyone running a duel fuel champion generator?

I looked into a propane conversion on my Generac 7500 but consumption rate on propane is huge. It would cost way more than gasoline. Only advantage would be to have a huge submarine sized propane tank that would keep you going in a shit hit the fan scenario where gasoline becomes unavailable

I'd have to look at consumption of propane, but being I'm camping its more readily available then gas ...

Seems propane runs much longer on this model .

I bought a sportsman 2K watt dual fuel Genny early last year.

I've only used it with propane and it's been great.

I bought it because when the crap hits the fan, gasoline supply has been spotty, but propane is abundant.

I bought a couple of 20 lb'ers and the adapter to fill the 1 lb bottles for my propane heater.

Propane burns cleaner, which in the long run should make your generator engine last longer. Another plus with propane is not having to keep refilling the gas tank.
