gobbling

yesterday i was working across the street from forest lawn cemetery in buffalo i was up in the bucket trucket and could hear a turkey gobbling like crazy a few minutes later i could see a big tom strutting around the cemetery then a few minutes later hew was running full speed all over the place. last week i see 6 toms strutting in the same spot.

They've really gotten fired up here this week. Put one to bed a couple hundred yards off the front porch tonight.

Hoping to get out in the morning with the camera and snap his mug shot!

Last day to sign up for the Spring Turkey Classic. Get in, if u haven't already. The turkeys are showing here also. Sounds like it's going to be a very gobbling experience this season. Good luck to the upcoming youth season this weekend, enjoy! Hope for some decent weather.

[Cabin Fever]

Went out listening 2 weeks ago. Heard 2 gobbling one morning, then 4-5 gobbling the very next morning. Been out 5 mornings (3 last week, 2 this week) at daylight since then, and haven't heard a thing! Even went out a few additional mid-mornings, but nothing! I think they are about tapped out up here!!

I'm not expecting much action in my area by the time regular season rolls around...

6k report; I'm stoked! Was up to camp setting up a cam & had a mouth call with me, decided to see if anything was out there. I did a few short yelps and two gobblers fired right back - 60 yards out! There I am standing there thinking 'holy &}{%#' - I quick set the cam, hit the sides with scent away, grabbed the rake and quietly as I could snuck outta there. Rake was left there by the plot from last time, anyhow when I got about 50 yards away I hit the call again and the birds fired back up.

How am I going to sleep tonight and still got a week to go
